Who's behind Loft Learn

Loft Learn was founded by Luke Grange, based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Luke's path to international education started with a simple belief: that the whole point of education is to develop critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity — and that this only works when students end up in the right place, studying the right thing.

Early in his career, Luke led a major project with Graduate Careers Australia (now known as QILT — the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching), migrating the platform that powers Australia's national graduate outcomes survey. That work gave him a front-row seat to the data on how well universities actually prepare students for the real world — and where the gaps are.

That experience led him to IDP Education, one of the world's largest international student placement services, where he served as Global Knowledge Manager. His job was to make sure student counsellors across the globe — in India, South-East Asia, China, and beyond — had the right information to help students choose universities that genuinely matched their goals, interests, and personal needs.

"It was one of the most rewarding roles I'd ever had. For years afterwards, I wanted to find a way to do this again — with an even bigger focus on getting the right information to students during one of the biggest decisions they may ever make in their lives."

That vision became Loft Learn. Luke saw that students were forced to go to one place to research universities and somewhere else entirely to find scholarship opportunities. Loft Learn brings those two things together: helping students find the right university and the funding to get there, with fast, personal support that makes the whole process feel like someone is genuinely in your corner.

Luke has travelled extensively through India and South-East Asia, lived in both the UK and the USA, and visited universities across Australia and New Zealand. His wife works at the University of Queensland supporting international government programs with a focus on Asia. And with two daughters in high school, the question of 'where to study and why' isn't just professional — it's deeply personal.
